Dixie's Pecan Pie Cobbler takes walnut pie to an unheard of level!
After only one nibble of Dixie's Pecan Pie Cobbler, you will be snared! I was! Our yearly family gathering showed signs of improvement once I had a sample of this delightful shoemaker. Shoemakers have consistently been my preferred treats and this one certainly makes the cut.
Walnut Pie Cobbler takes walnut pie to the following level. The base hull is topped with a flavorful walnut custard, another outside and more walnuts.
Ingredients :
- 1 box refrigerated pie coverings (Pillsbury 14.1 oz.)
- 2 and 1/2 cups light corn syrup
- 2 and 1/2 cups pressed dark colored sugar
- 1/2 cup liquefied spread
- 4 tsp. vanilla
- 6 eggs, gently beaten
- 2 cups cleaved walnuts
cooking shower
2 cups walnut parts
Vanilla Ice Cream for garnish, (discretionary yet profoundly suggested)
Directions :
- Warmth broiler to 425º F. Gently oil a 13" x 9" glass preparing dish. Expel one pie hull from bundle and turn out to fit the heating dish. Trim edges.
- In an enormous bowl, join corn syrup, dark colored sugar, spread, vanilla, and eggs. Race until all around consolidated. Mix in slashed walnuts.
- Spoon half of filling into outside layer.
- Expel the second outside layer from the bundle, and turn out to fit heating dish. Spot the hull over the filling. Gently splash with cooking shower.
- Heat 14-16 minutes or until carmelized. Expel from stove.
- Diminish broiler temp. to 350º and cautiously spoon remaining walnut filling over covering. Orchestrate the walnut parts over the top and prepare 30 minutes or until the middle is set. Let cool for 15-20 minutes. Present with vanilla dessert.
